Fentanyl crisis deliberate attempt by China to weaken US, new book says

WASHINGTON (TND) — Fentanyl overdoses remain the number one cause of death among U.S. Adults ages 18-45, with more than 73,000 reported in 2022 alone.

But how the drug is made, shipped and distributed appears to be an effort facilitated by China at every level, according to a new book by Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer.

In “Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans,”Schweizer explains the term “disintegration warfare.”

“It basically says why go head-to-head with the United States? Let’s just go ahead and do what we can to create social division and chaos to see the decline of the United States,” explained Schweizer in an interview with The National Desk Monday.

Despite rhetoric that Mexico or the open border is to blame, Schweizer provides multiple examples of how the fentanyl crisis is not accidental, but a deliberate strategy, from the creation of the ingredients to the ports they enter in Mexico and even to the manufacturing in Mexico which he said is overseen by China and the Chinese nationals on the ground there. Additionally, he said, China also now oversees the laundering of the money.

The money from the drug cartels in Latin America they used to launder it from South American banks. They now order it from Chinese state banks which have very, very tight currency controls. So this is not happening by accident. It’s absolutely happening with the complicit involvement with the Chinese government.

The phenomenon was discussed by Navy Adm. Craig S. Faller at a Congressional hearing in March 2021. At the time he was serving as Commander of U.S. Southern Command.

“The DEA has cited Chinese money laundering as the number one underwriter of transnational criminal organizations,” Faller said.

While Chinese involvement is no surprise – Schweizer makes the case it’s 100% deliberate.

For his research in the book, he used no unnamed sources, instead relying on experts, as well as leaked documents from the Department of Homeland Security and Chinese military manuals and strategy books.

“Unrestricted Warfare,” a copy of which was smuggled into the United States and translated into English, outlines “China’s master plan to destroy America.”

We asked Schweizer how the death of thousands of Americans by fentanyl has diminished power in this country.

This is causing major casualties, and these are younger people. These are people that might go into the military; people that might help grow the economy. It also creates an enormous strain on our healthcare systems It is one of many arrows that are firing at the United States in an effort to weaken and sap our strength.

Schweizer said the blame for this lies at the highest levels of the U.S. government. He includes Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, whose family has close ties to the Chinese shipping industry and President Joe Biden whose son Hunter has done business with CCP-linked companies, implicating dozens more in what he calls “willful blindness.”
